Again, it is definitely easier but if you can consistently pull 33+s on those old AAMC tests I think youll be fine and Id put more stock in that than some stupid non AAMC company FL score. Since AAMC 11 and Scored FL overlap you can just use your score on the Scored FL for those questions on 11 to get a grade. If there is a significant difference in your scored, vs sample vs OG scores, the one Id put the most weight in is the scored FLītw I know people talk shit on the old AAMC Fls and yeah the real deal for sure was harder but Id still do AAMC 8-11. But I think all 3 still definitely matter. Out of all the 3, the OG is the predictor Id put the least stock in. 80+%: Reasonable predictor of 510+ 90+%: I dont know of many people who do this well and dont at least get in the 515-517 range. OG: 70+%: Pretty good predictor you can at least get in the 501-503 range. If your overall score is inflated from a really high CARS score(particularly if you know you arent a CARs beast) you should perhaps adjust your expectations just a slight amount. Key caveat: The CARS is too easy on this. Definitely have some chance at 508-511.Ĩ0+%: Very likely to hit 510, pretty solid chance at 511-513, and have a shot at 515.Ĩ5+%: Pretty likely to hit 515. Decent shot 505.ħ5+%: very likely to hit 505.
Reddit mcat practice test scores how to#
IMHO here is a very very rough guide for how to use themħ0+%: Very likely to hit 500. When using your practice scores of a predictor for how youd do on the real thing I would also use your AAMC Sample scores and the OG.
But for others, and from what I know from some of these people, the gap is legit. Some of it will be due to them takign the scored FL like 6 weeks before the real deal. This is probably how the real deal scale is also(psych/soc is high school level stuff, you test a bunch of uber smart SDN/reddit type premeds on it, the curve has to be ridiculous) but still if you get say a 127 on that but feel like you know your stuff, I wouldnt panic over that one score.Ĭ) There are certainly people who have significant fluctations in their scored vs real MCAT score. But if your someone with say a 510 scored FL, I think you should feel relatively confident you can hit that on the real thing.ī) The scored FL psych/soc scoring scale is a bitch. Now obviously this has different variations: someone with a 523 scored FL cant guarantee themselves a 523 on the real deal as an ex. Spent waaaayyyyy too much time thinking about it, here's my 2 cents on how to interpret scores and all that other good stuff.Ī) The odds are pretty good you will at least get your scored FL score. I was really curious in the correlation partly because I was convinced I would have to retake and partly because I think it's just interesting and important also. I actually am almost by definition the average reddit user in terms of scored vs real MCAT score.
